My body, my choice. Your cocktail.

Big HUGE thanks to all of you who came out to our Brooklyn party this Monday! We packed the house for a fundraiser with our friends at No. 7 Restaurant and True Love Always for National Network of Abortion Funds, and it was so amazing to see you all put your money where your beliefs are.

Stand Together: A Party to Benefit Puerto Rico

On October 17th, with less than 2 weeks notice, we put together a cocktail party fundraiser to help recovery and rebuilding efforts in Puerto Rico with my pal, Crystal Orraca. Crystal grew up in Puerto Rico and was fortunate enough to be able to bring her parents here to New York about a week after Hurricane Maria, but she wanted to be able to help from afar.

We partnered with the stellar cocktail bar, Dirty Precious in Gowanus, Brooklyn which donated its space and labor for the cause. With their help, we threw a sold out cocktail party for over a hundred people. All told, we raised over 16K (!) which was donated directly to ConPRMetidos.

Thank you, thank you to all of the very generous people in our community who rallied and came out to support the cause. Scroll through for a peek at photos of the crowd by our friend, the talented Malorie Campinoti

I want to extend a HUGE thank you to all of the brands who showed their support and donated product on very short notice to a neighborhood event. Booze was hauled all around town to make it all come together, and I so very grateful. I am indebted to Campari, Chairman's Reserve, Four Pillars, Great King Street, Hangar 1, Lo-Fi Aperitifs, Sixpoint Brewery, and Yolo Mezcal. And I am ever grateful to my friends who rallied to give gift certificates, merchandise and services to help us raise more money! Thank you to the Brooklyn Academy of Music, Cookies for a Cause, Tarte handbags, Founder's Workspace, C. Toal Jewelry, No. 7 Restaurant, Lot 2 Restaurant, Mission Sportswear, Lo-Fi Aperitifs, Amber Sather of Southside Coffee and Lot 2, Re/Press jewelry, Fit4Mom, Brooklyn Children's Theater, Lavazza, Rodan & Fields, Cleaning Brooklyn, and Della Restaurant. You guys are my heroes.

Ladies' Negroni Party Photos

Thank you, thank you, to all the lovely and generous women who came out last night to my Negroni Week event, the Ladies’ Negroni Party in Brooklyn!! Over 50 women ate and drank at my neighborhood favorite, Krupa Grocery.

All proceeds from the night, including our raffle raised money for City Harvest. In a city where we are privileged enough to go out and drink amazing cocktails, folks don’t have enough food. City Harvest helps by reallocating food for supermarkets and restaurants to the hungry. I raise a glass to them.

Here are some photos taken by my friend (and the only man allowed at the event!), Jason Roth. Take special note of the Negroni COOKIES (!) that were made for us by Cookies for a Cause!

If you want to make your own Negronis, you can use the recipes here. And if you'd like to hear about future events, please follow me on Instagram and Facebook and sign up for our mailing list!

Thank you to Krupa Grocery, Dorothy Parker Gin, Campari America, Imbibe Magazine, and Cookies for a Cause for their donations and support. And extra big thanks to my girls, Erin O'Rourke and Alex Golden Flannery, for their hard work and moral support.

You can still get our Negroni Pins here and help raise even more $$$ for City Harvest. They're backordered but will ship soon!

Negroni Recipes

Tonight, we're hosting our Ladies' Negroni Party at Krupa Grocery in Brooklyn in honor of Negroni Week where bars around the world serve Negronis to raise money for charity. I'm so pleased to be raising money for City Harvest this year, an organization whose mission is to redirect unused food from NYC's restaurants, supermarkets, etc. to feed our city's hungry. We've been selling Negroni pins and decanters. and our event will raise $ as well.

The cause is our #1 priority, but I'm also a bit of a Negroni fanatic, so we'll be serving 2 of the most classic Negroni variations: a classic Negroni and a Negroni Sbagliato. Here are the recipes. Happy drinking, friends, and thanks in advance to all of you who are coming out to support the cause!

1 oz gin
1 oz Campari
1 oz Sweet Vermouth

Stir ingredients with ice in a mixing glass. Strain, and serve on the rocks with a long orange twist.

Negroni Sbagliato

1 oz Campari
1 oz Sweet Vermouth
1 oz Prosecco

Combine Campari and vermouth in a glass with ice. Add Prosecco and stir to combine. Garnish with an orange twist.
