I am completely smitten with these new glasses I picked up at an antique shop at the Jersey shore on a recent girls' weekend. It was nearly hurricane conditions, but we didn't care. Wine? Check. Potato chips? Check. No kids? Check. Antiquing??? Yes!!! We spent hours in one shop—which is nearly my favorite way to spend time—and I emerged with these killer pink glasses with gold stripes. Obsessed.
And here's the cocktail to match: The Pink Lady. We made this recipe from The Spirit of Gin by Matt Teacher—and it does not disappoint. We recently made these homemade maraschino cherries, too, and I'm loving having them around to garnish cocktails. They're so much better than even the best I've bought. Not at all syrup-y, but rich and nuanced. And easy!
Here's to the ladies,
recipe from The Spirit of Gin
1 1/2 oz gin
1/2 oz lemon juice
1/2 oz applejack
2 dashes grenadine
1 egg white
maraschino cherry for garnish (our homemade cherry recipe)
Combine all ingredients except for cherry in a cocktail shaker with ice. Shake well, strain into a chilled coupe, and garnish with a cherry.
