No. 7 North's Fool's Gold Cocktail Recipe

With Fall here, we were itching for some new cocktails to try, so I enlisted the help of my pal Chris Fisher over at No. 7's brand new cocktail bar & restaurant, No. 7 North, in Greenpoint, Brooklyn.

Chris knows I love Whisky, so he passed along the recipe for the Fool's Gold, a spicy and delicious take on a Gold Rush, a modern classic from Milk and Honey's TJ Siegal. 

It's super easy to make, as the infused whisky only takes 20 minutes, and it's completely delicious. Not to mention that the Love & Victory Ours decanter  and any of our glassware makes a great receptacle for the booze.

FOOL'S GOLD

2 oz jalapeño infused George Dickel Tennessee Whisky (recipe below)
1/4 oz agave syrup (recipe below)
2 oz jalapeño infused George Dickel Tennessee Whisky (recipe below)
1/2 oz fresh lemon juice

1/4 oz agave syrup (recipe below) 
club soda

Shake with 3 large ice cubes, strain into an Old Fashioned Glass over new ice, top with club soda.

JALAPEÑO WHISKY

Pour the whisky into a non-reactive container and add 2-3 thinly sliced jalapeño peppers (with seeds and all). Let sit for 20 minutes, strain, and put a lid on it.

AGAVE SYRUP

Mix equal parts agave nectar and water and bring to a simmer until it dissolves.
